En la isla de cabrera el periodo reproductivo de la especie comprende desde abril a octubre, mientras que el vegetativo tiene lugar a lo largo de todo el año, con un mínimo durante los meses de otoño e invierno.

Importancia ecológica

Lophocladia lallemadii produce sustancias alelopáticas (sustancias que afectan negativamente a otras especies) denominadas lofocladinas (Sureda et al. 2006, 2008) y pertenece al grupo ecológico de las epecies esciáfilas (que necesitan poca luz) (Soto y Conde, 1989).
